Can anyone tell us the current fine/late fee for not having gotten a sticker? Does the fine compound year to year?

And what do they do if you walk into city hall to buy the sticker and you have lived here for years without one?

Initially we just didn't think of it, and then we were afraid to start getting the stickers for fear of inviting scrutiny and getting some giant fine for the previous years if we did start complying. Obviously the car is always parked in the garage.

It is the concept of an insane fine that scares us, not the cost of going back and paying for the missed years plus a reasonable late fee.

Today's ChiTrib article has given us the willies -- how Riverside reportedly raised their late fee from $25 a year to $250. How is it legal to do that retroactively anyway?

Just go and request a sticker.
Tell them, if they ask, you got the car recently.
They really have no clue.
Why won't anyone believe it's not butter ?
