i saw this movie at AMC Quarry 3D-omnimax. one of the best movies I've ever experienced. i say experienced because i haven't been to a 3D movie since Jaws 3D...  and i haven't heard that sound so real , well even in my own head. i highly recommend..  very kid friendly... few sh*ts...  but not much... and some aliens doing a bump and grind... but not too uncomfortable....  imho.

Great movie to watch for visual experience.  You can't get that experience from watching at home... must see in 3D at iMax.

Storyline... so so.  Think Alien Pocahontas.

A comic book geek co-worker told me it's basically Dances with Wolves in Space.  Granted, it's a storyline that has been told & re-told over time, but here's MTV's take on the similarities:

I saw it in 3-D (not I-Max tho').  I agree that the story is nothing we haven't heard before, but the 3-D was really cool & really made watching the movie a fun experience.  It's a long movie though & the husband & I though it might have been worth paying to see it at one of the premium theaters with extra comfy seats or even the recliner seats.

Great movie?  Absolutely... love the graphics, like no other experience.

But the greatest movie ever?  Wow, that is a pretty bold statement.  I can think of scores of other movies that win over on story/substance.
