Pretty uneventful.

Erickson's questions about Main Street were deferred because Methadone Michele was not in attendance.

Lovero grandstanded a bit complaining about a program to attract high quality renters to Berwyn (Berwyn Housing Center) while supporting the 16th Theater.

Phelan was dressed with his flannel shirt hanging out and what looked like several days worth of facial hair.  Impressive.

Ended about 9:30 or so.

Thanks Brian.  Maybe Phelan is depressed?  Shirt hanging out, unshaven!
City Council needs a dress code.

Anything more about the cars that Lovero was wetting his pants about?

Also, what happened with the grievance from that policeman who lied about his "degree" but wants the promotion his wife was unable to secure for him?

Oh yes, Skryd's grievance.  As stated at council, according to the Union contract, the grievance is to be "read" at city council.  When Erickson proposed to do so, the DCOB block voted to NOT read it, against the advice of the City Attorney (Chapman said that "that doesn't mean you READ it at council"...wtf DOES it mean then Nona?).  That raises an interesting point...if the terms of the contract were not followed, does that make it more likely the union would prevail?  Did the DCOB contingent just find a way to back door a promotion?

The two cars were 12 years old.  The cost to repair the transmissions was $1200+ for each.  Rather than spending money on repairs, they purchased two cars at $9,000 each.  Each was done as a separate transaction.  Lovero objected to this as any expenditure over $10k must (apparently) be voted upon by council.  He felt they should have been combined.  Council voted to refer to the Attorney General or someone to "Investigate".

OMG, what a whiner...wet pants, indeed.

Is this the kind of mentality you want running our city??

And the Democratic Citizens of Berwyn have 'swipes belching out garbage like this in support of their cause...

Papa got a brand new bag
Well, not a bag, but a NEW CAR, the building director got one too. Problem is OC bought
daddy dearest new wheels
to tool around in 60402 without council approval. #7 is rightfully
demanding explanation and the complete paper trail of the purchased vehicles. That paper trail
will make for an interesting read.

LOL...so much for that!

Guests...read the packet.  F-4, p. 42

Erickson asserts Chapman, Lovero creating controversy, breaching contract, giving "special consideration" to get one of theirs promoted.

Erickson is requesting a meeting with the Police Committee to address the mess, and stop the wasting of taxpayers money on bogus lawsuits.

Did anyone mention that the only way to attract high quality anything would be to focus on our schools, specifically the HS?
