On Sept. 11th 2009 Jim Carroll suffered a heart attack and passed away.  My introduction to him was through The Jim Carroll Band and of course this 1980 classic ...

I saw him at Lounge Ax in the early 1990's. It was awesome to see him live--very moving.

(PS--Red Elvises Oct. 10th at Fitzgerald's)

Never got to see the Jim Carroll live ... Lounge Ax would have been a great place for him.  Was it the band or a spoken word thing or a combination?

It was pretty much a spoken word messed up thing. But it was great.
