Hmmm ... seems like 2009 was the year of the "Supergroup" ...

Tinted Windows = Bun E. Carlos, James Iha, Adam Schlesinger & Taylor Hanson (yep - that Hanson).

Them Crooked Vultures = John Paul Jones, Dave Grohl, Josh Homme & Alain Johannes.

Monsters of Folk = Jim James from My Morning Jacket, Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis from Bright Eyes and M. Ward.

I'm not familiar with the records each of these bands has released this year, but there's a buncha vids on youtube & some of the stuff sounds pretty cool.

And don't forget about Chickenfoot!

Satriani / Anthony / Hagar / That gut that looks like Will Ferrell

I know Sammy has put on some weight ... but to count his belly as a member of the band is a lil' harsh - dontchya think?

I have seen My Morning Jacket (Jim James' band) 3 times and each time the band has been better and better and better.  They are one awesome band to see perform live.

I sure hope that Monsters of Folk doesn't mean that MMJ is not going to continue.

M. Ward opened for My Morning Jacket the last time I saw the band.

Scungili, I'm an ass and I really should lay off the attempts at comedy, at least until I learn how to spell simple words like guy.

Don't know if any of you catch 'That Metal Show' on VH1 Classic, but they interviewed Chickenfoot recently at the Astoria (?) before a show in  New York. Chad Smith was absolutely nuts - as funny or funnier than Will Ferrell.

Also, I could only hope to look as good as Sammy does when (if) I'm 60.

Scottymac ... I was just pokin' a lil' fun at Sammy via your missed key stroke - not tryin' to be a grammar dick.

I'm still on broadcast TV so I've never seen "That Metal Show".  Chad Smith was a Chili Pepper - right?  I could see him being funny as hell.
