Seeing as there's no other, started this thread for all things Indian Head.

Depressing game last night.

Sat at the bar at Paisan's last night for the last period and couldn't help but think "oh boy, here we go again" after Toews and Stalberg missed on breakaways in the third period.

Sure enough, Sedin in OT right through the heart of a half asleep Hawks D.

Not making any Stanley Cup plans this year.

  One major problem this season and last is the two top defenseman haven't been worth a shit since they won the cup and got their big pay days. Last night on Sedins game winner both were standing by a post watching the game. They throw the puck around in their own end without looking like 7 year olds. They also let guys CONSTANTLY camp out in front of their net. They also have too many forwards who can skate but can't finish. Stahlberg,Frolic, and Krueger blow tons of chances. They also have a guy who is paid and viewed as a superstar who is not,Patrick Kane.
They also keep saying they need a second line center. They have him, his name is Dave Bolland. Bolland was a big time scorer his whole life til he came here and they want to make him a 3rd line defensive specialist. I am really starting to question alot of the things coach Q is doing with this team. Patrick Sharp has as much business on the point on the power play as I do. Without Toews and Hossa this team would be in huge trouble.

  Playing Frolic last night and sending Jimmy Hayes to Rockford was really a dumb move. The kids they bring up like Hayes,Shaw,Pirri, and Smith all hit, and all go to the net. I sure hope they are shopping Frolic and Krueger around.

That's exactly what I told a guy sitting at the bar last next to me night...why send Hayes down when they have "ballerinas" like Frolik still up with the parent club?

  The Hawks have really good young talent stock piled everywhere in their system. Hayes little brother is really good playing at B.C. Brendan Saad is back in juniors and has a bright future. I can't see paying and playing these euro ballerinas who can't hit, can't finish around the net when you have loads of young talent.
If you would have put eggs in Kruegers pants last night the shells would not have broken after 3 periods of hockey.
  Did you also notice the Canuckleheads behaved themselves last night and were not cheap shotting? Why cuz John Scott was on the bench. He sat 4 games against them last year in the playoffs and we lost all 4. The 3 he dressed for we won. That guy must dress against teams with shitheads. And he has improved since last season. He's never gonna be Doug Wilson but his presence makes a big difference in the game.

I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY about Scott...even if he's completely useless on the ice, the deterrent effect makes the risk worthwhile as it pertains to the Canucks. I just don't know why the had to go overboard with the "muscle" this year. At this stage of his career, ODonnell is useless and more often than not a healthy scratch. hence a wasted roster spot. And we only needed ONE of Carcillo/Mayers, not BOTH.

I didn't mind Carcillo and Mayers because they both can skate and have skills. O'Donnell is the one I don't like. That kid Dylan Olsen was brought up a few weeks back and once he got the jitters out he played really well. They also haven't given Lipisto a fair shake. I heard some commentators saying the defensman they gave up for Morrison will be a good player. Problem is he is 5th on the Hawks depth chart in the system.

  When you look at the young depth in the Hawks system you can't just look at the Rockford farm club. They have a lot of really talented kids in juniors and in the colleges. They have a defenseman playing at Notre Dame that is really good.

Tell me exactly why a guy like Kruger is on the squad. What does HE bring to the table?

As for Morrison, not a bad player, but why would Calgary just give up on him? For a minor league defenseman buried on the Hawks depth chart?

btw, I like Carcillo and Mayers also...agree they can both play, but unless you have a loaded squad, three goons (even if two can play a bit) is a luixury you cant' afford.

Calgary is looking to load up on prospects for veteran players. Krueger is there because for some reason coach Q loves the kid. He shows me nothing. If a euro player is not a scorer you should usually get rid of them. He can't hold a candle to any of the Canadian and U.S born kids they have been bringing up. The one guy I am praying they pick up in a trade before the deadline is Hal Gill from Montreal. Big stay at home defenseman who can also move the puck. They should have signed him when he left Pittsburgh.

LOL, I like Hal Gill. He's an old style defensman and we need one bad. I don't like Kjarmallson with Leddy, they pretty much play the same style.
