I just found the original sales slip. Purchased from Polk Bros 1/14/1959 $ 619.95.  It is a beautiful cabinet, radio still works, has a tape recording device and of course the record spin that plays 45's, 33's and 78's.  Needs some wiring work.  If you think it's worth $100.00 call me at 708-788-3015.

Bear

Good Lord....$600 in 1959 for tunes for BerwynPatsy?, your parents truly loved you.

I think they would have been able to buy a Buick for only a couple more hundred bucks
at that time.

Bad wiring?...I'll talk to a guy I know
...What else can we do now except roll down the window and let the wind blow back your hair...

Wow, BerwynPatsy.  $619 !!!

What did you end up doing with it?

LOL...that's more than double my parents' first bedroom set, purchased there 12 months later...
... "Shit ton of beer being served here soon!"

Berwyn Patsy

The beauty is still available. My first 45 record that came along with it was "16 candles"!!

I have to mention a great nostalgic paper back I got for Christmas "IMAGES of America  CICERO REVISITED"
Author Douglas Deuchler.
Mustang 54, you would no doubt enjoy this book also.

Do you have a picture of it?

Have you read the other IMAGES books by Deuchler?

On that receipt there's something you don't see anymore, "COD."
I forgot my p's started out on South OPA as well.  Next I'll be buying the house my grandma grew up in... :D

In the meantime, have bohemian keep an eye on it for you.

Bonster, sorry I do not have a picture of it.  Bear usually does any photo shoots if I ask him.  PM me though and you are certainly welcome to come by and take a look if you think you are interested.  It's Blond
wood, and of course needs
some work.  The outside is in great shape and makes for a nice piece of furniture.
I read the BERWYN IMAGES paper back also.  Good Reading.

I have been working very hard to keep in shape,
a daily regimen of 12 oz. wrist curls helps me keep my
boyish figure
