Concordia's Vacation Bible School

The theme of this year's Vacation Bible School is JUNGLE SAFARI - DISCOVER JESUS THE KING.

It will be held June 20th-23rd and continue June 27-29th from 6:30 pm - 8:45 pm.  Each night the children will be grouped off by age and assigned to a particular classroom.  There will be nightly crafts, singing, Bible lessons and snacks.  A running points contest, held by Pastor Mark Matthews, will add to the fun as children win points for bringing friends, learning Bible verses and offering.  The "I brought a friend" reward is handed out each night to the child who has brought the most friends that night. A nightly Bible Book finding competition will be held with nightly ribbons being handed out, culminating in a Bible being given out to each grade level champ at the ending program. The program on June 29th is open to parents so they can experience the music that the children have learned. A free will donation is taken each night to cover the cost of materials

Donations of canisters of Kool Aid and Freeze Pops are being accepted.

The program is open to ages 4 years through 8th grade.  This is a wonderful program that involves between 200-300 Berwyn kids each summer who learn about Jesus. You may attend some or all of the evenings.

REMINDER~!!!!!!

VBS (Vacation Bible School) starts tonight, Monday June 20th at 6:30 pm at Concordia Lutheran Church, 3144 S. Home.  Come one night, come all nights!  The kids have an absolute blast, and Moms and Dads get time to themselves Mon through Thursday this week and Mon through Tues next week.  A free will donation is taken each night.  It costs probably a minimum of $5 per night to purchase craft items for each child.  Offerings are based on your individual gift.

Kids are to be picked up at 8:45pm in the church.  Little ones are kept in the pews until we see a parent or sibling to release them to.  If your child needs an earlier dismissal time, feel free to come to the classroom at the time that suits your family.

Vacation Bible School finishes up tonight with a closing program at 7pm.  Parents are invited to the church to hear the songs the children have learned.  An ice cream social will follow.

For those children who have won a ribbon in the Bible Book finding contest, there will be a final contest for each grade level.  The winner of each competition will receive their very own Bible.
