Good News from District 201

    Morton West will begin implementing a "small schools" project with next year's freshman.  Anyone who knows details, please reply.  The concept is a group of kids (125?) will share the same core teachers (Math, English, Social Studies, Science) and will be contained within a certain area of the school - lockers near the classrooms.  Also, the teachers will share the same prep time, allowing for better communication about students and lesson planning.  It is my understanding that the groupings will be somewhat random, with a bit of tracking for ability.  After freshman year, the kids will be able to join teams dedicated to certain studies (math and science academy, Fine Arts??)
