Seabiscuit wasn't bad ... I didn't read the book, but I know that the book was a big hit.  Perhaps it turned more of a story, IDK.  From the trailer on Secretariat ... I don't have big hopes.  I never do.  I'm always a skeptic on these things being turned into movies, cause if they get it wrong, then the viewers are left with .... that's how it was.

When it comes to racehorses ... when the actual events happen ... ALL attention is on the horse.  When they make the movie ... All attention is on some story they make to support the whole movie.

You can't beat real life and your memories.  Goes for sports figures too.  No matter what story line they come up with it's never as great as your real hero, caused you probably followed the person for decades and the movie could not capture the greatness.

Seabiscuit is one of the best family movies ever made.

Saw the movie.  I enjoyed it very much.  These horse movies are pretty much the same, I've yet to see a Director who can really do a GREAT job, and sometimes think they should be consulting ppl who actually film this type of stuff for a living in order to get it right.  Since I know just about everything there is about this horse, I didn't want to spoil things by sitting down and criticizing everything.  I just wanted to enjoy it ... and I did.  For those of you that really cannot comprehend the profound effect Secretariat had that year in 1973 ... watch this which is sports media on that moment in time.  Very good.  You'll enjoy.

I saw the movie with my 8 year old and we loved it.  I remember the race from 73 but forgot what a great race it was.  I also did not realize what a great horse this was also.  Absolutely beautiful movie.  I will probably watch it another 10 times

Yes, Tony, it was very good, indeed.  Penny was a pretty smart cookie.  Given her circumstances, the idea to syndicate him was brilliant, especially when she was offered $8 million for him unproven.  $8 mil was a lot of dough back then.
