was a Philco, about 1950. The old man was holding out for "better reliability". In those days, one could count on "technical difficulties" quite often, several times a week, at least. Usually, it was a video, picture, problem, seldom taking more than 15 minutes to be fixed, always long enough to miss something critical (unless you were watching Uncle Miltie.

The many tubes in those sets generated so much heat, the living room was the warmest place in the house in winter! No wonder we watched all the time!

One of my favorite early comics was Ernie Kovacs. The man was a frontiering genius! Wonder if some of his presentations which showed his innovativeness are available!  Berwynson
