At tonight's D100 board meeting, the board, in a split 3-2 vote, voted to shunt aside its old law firm (Klein, Thorpe and Jenkins) and hire the politically connected DelGaldo law firm.  The law firm of Klein, Thorpe and Jenkins had been the D100 law firm for decades before tonight's vote.

The board was split on this decision.  Debi Suchy said she wanted to have more discussion before making a rash decision.  Suchy made a motion to defer the vote. Ann-Marie Suter seconded the motion to defer. The motion to defer was defeated 3 to 2 with Suchy and Suter voting Aye and Bob Pauly, James Swicionis and Joanne Zaworski voting Nay.

Then a motion was made to hire the DelGaldo law firm.  That motion passed 3 to 2 with Pauly, Swicionis and Zaworski voting Aye and Suchy and Suter voting Nay.

The DelGaldo law firm has long time ties to Larry Dominick in Cicero and to Robert Lovero in Berwyn.  The DelGaldo law firm is the law firm for District 201, being hired in 2007 after Jeff Pesek and other candidates supported by Larry Dominick won election.

DelGaldo represented Pesek in a million dollar law suit against Cicero in 2006 and was hired for work by the Town of Cicero and other governmental bodies in Cicero after Dominick's election in 2005.

DelGaldo has also done work for the city of Berwyn and has ties to Mayor Robert Lovero.  No explanation was given at the board meeting as to why the board would get rid of a law firm that had served it well for decades.

I honestly don't thing an explanation had to be given to anyone with half a brain.  I'm glad there are still a few school board members questioning things.  People who wanted both the Berwyn school districts (98 and 100) to merge into a separate Community School District with Morton West High School should contact the DelGaldo Law Firm since it is handling two thirds of the equation now.  Good luck!
