Summer Reading for Incoming Freshman

The Freshman Center has a summer reading program for incoming freshman that includes this weblog for students to choose their book and participate in discussions w/ classmates and a teacher over the summer.  Has anyone read any of these books?:

We're reading Three Cups of Tea for an adult book club. I think this is a wonderful choice for high school reading, hopefully they will learn perseverance, teamwork and the importance of schools.

My 14 yo read Persepolis this year as part of her English class.  Very good, strong book.  They made lots of comparisons of teen life struggles.
