Here is the statement from the Berwyn Police Department.  Also, FYI, there was an armed robbery at Mr. Submarine near 26th and Ridgeland that was unrelated to this shooting:

"On Monday, January 29, 2018, at approximately 11:33pm, Berwyn Police units responded a call of multiple gun shots being fired in the area of 26th Street and Clarence Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a vehicle with two occupants a female driver and a male passenger. Both the driver and passenger had sustained gunshot wounds. Paramedics responded and transported both victims to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood.

Once at Loyola, it was learned that the female was shot what appears to be one time in the mouth and the male sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Both victims are currently being treated at Loyola Medical Center at this time and none of the injuries appear to be life threatening.

Both victims reside in the City of Chicago. The Female is 24 years old and the male is 25 years old. The male is known to have some gang involvement and although the investigation is still in its preliminary stage, it appears that the male was targeted by a rival gang also from Chicago. At this time it is believed that none of the victims or suspects' have any ties to the Berwyn area.

Berwyn Police Investigators are asking anybody who may have witnessed this incident, has any information regarding this incident or who may have video surveillance systems on their property that may have captured images from this incident to contact the Berwyn Police Department Crime Tip Hotline at 708-749-6564."
