Title: Long Time Occupancy Exemption Form
Post by: buzz on June 19, 2008, 07:59:24 PM
I reeived the application today for the Long Term Occupancy Exemption. Over 10 yrs.
It must be notarized.  Don't remember having to ever do that before.  Anyone?
Also, if you received it; they want them back by the 30th.

We also received it.  I think this is definitely a good thing for us long term owners.  Just an FYI to anyone who didn't receive it and has lived here since 1997 - contact the assessors office.  That 7% tax cap has to be voted on regularly and I have a feeling that even if they don't renew it for everyone this may be a loophole especially considering the fact they want it notarized.

Today's Tribune, Metro Section, Pg.3....small article about this subject.
Illinois legislature did not vote on the extension.

I've lived here 12 years.  Didn't get a thing.

Hmm.
