Winter Wiggle-wormsLooking for a place for your infant, toddler or preschooler to play, explore and socialize? If so, we have the perfect activity for you. During Winter Wiggle-worms the gym will be set up with a variety of toys and equipment for your child to enjoy. Pre-registration is not required. Pay as you attend at the Liberty Cultural Center located at 6445 W. 27th Place.

Winter Wiggle-worms meets on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 9:00 – 11:00a.m., from now until the end of March (when the weather is nice enough to play outside in the park!) This activity is intended for children, six months to four years of age.

Adventure CampIt's never too early to start thinking of the summer! Summer camp at the Berwyn Park District is where kids of all ages want to be! Campers are grouped by their ages and remain with their groups for the majority of the day. Your child will participate in sports, crafts, swimming, field trips and much more.

The Berwyn Park District offers your 5 to 13 year old a 5-Day, 3-Day or 2-Day option with Before and After Care. Prices vary based upon how many days your child will be attending camp. Camp begins the week after school lets out on Monday, June 4, 2012 and will be held at the Liberty Cultural Center – 6445 W. 27th Place.

We also offer a Counselor in Training camp that teaches 12 – 17 year olds how to organize and implement our summer day camp. CIT participants enjoy our popular day camp from the perspective of the counselors.

Preschool & Pre-K Summer CampTime for Fun in the Sun! During this Berwyn Park District's eight week camp, your little camper will enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor activities; including songs, arts and crafts, games, swimming at the Freedom Park Children's Water Park, visits to the Freedom playground, walks in and around the park.

Each camper will receive a "Fun in the Sun" t-shirt and on the last day we will take a field trip to Cypress Cove Water Park on the last day of class. Parents have the option to send their children to Half Day AM Camp (9:00a.m. – 12:00p.m.), Half Day PM Camp (12:30 – 3:30p.m.), or All Day Camp (9:00a.m. – 3:30p.m.). 

Camp will be held at Freedom Park – 3701 S. Scoville, Monday through Thursday.

Guitar LessonsWhether you are a beginner, have some experience or are interested in a Guitar Boot Camp, the Berwyn Park District has it for you! Learn the basics to set a solid foundation or continue to build on what you already know. Our instructor will have guitars available to rent.

Lessons will take place on Tuesdays at the Proksa Park Activity Center, between 5:30 and 7:30p.m. Berwyn Residents and Non-Residents pay $160 for this eight-week course.

Adult Drop-In Basketball & VolleyballWhether you're looking for some extra practice or just want to burn off the stress of the week, all are welcome to participate in these fun filled co-ed sports. This is a great opportunity to meet other adults with a similar interest, while taking full advantage of the Berwyn Park District's Liberty Cultural Center – 6445 W. 27th Place – and it's newly renovated gym floor. All participants must complete a participation registration form for the season.

The Liberty Cultural Center will be open on Wednesdays for Basketball, from 7:30 – 10:00p.m. and on Thursdays for Volleyball, from 7:30 – 10:00p.m.

Total Body WorkoutThis class incorporates cardiovascular fitness for weight loss (Zumba, Aerobics & Kickboxing Aerobics), abdominal exercise to tighten up those stomach muscles, lower body and weight training to be firm and toned. Total Body Workout was designed for a person who does not have a lot of time and wants to get their workout done all at one.

Class meets twice a week on Mondays and Tuesdays, from 8:00 until 9:00p.m. at the Proksa Park Activity Center. Berwyn Residents pay $72 and Non-Residents pay $80 to participate in this eight-week class.

Hip Hop Abs, Thighs & BunsDance your way into having fabulous abs with a special technique that does not require you to lay on the floor. Target the lower body areas completely from hip to gluteus maximus and inner and outer thigh area. Slim and tighten the lower body completely so you can get into those skinny jeans again!

Join us Wednesday nights, 9:00 – 10:00p.m., at the Proksa Park Activity Center – 3001 S. Wisconsin – for this fun and easy workout that uses simple dance steps that anyone can do! Berwyn Residents pay $72 and Non-Residents pay $80 to participate in this eight-week class.

AARP Driver SafetyThis Driver Safety Program is designed to give adults the tools needed to drive defensively and be better aware while behind the wheel. Completion of this AARP course may qualify you for an auto insurance discount (MUST ATTEND BOTH DAYS TO RECEIVE DISCOUNT). We ask that you register before the class, but you will pay the day of. Make checks payable to AARP. There will be time given for breaks. Feel free to bring a lunch or snack.

Class will take place on Monday, March 12 and Tuesday, March 13 at the Proksa Park Activity Center – 3001 S. Wisconsin – 10:00a.m. – 2:00p.m. AARP Members pay $12 and Non-AARP Members pay $14 to participate in the Driver Safety Program.

PinochleWhether you're one of the regulars or just want to try it out, stop in every Wednesday between 9:00a.m. and 3:00p.m., at the Liberty Cultural Center – 6445 W. 27th Place – for some coffee and cards. Participants pay $2 every time to cover the cost of coffee and pastry.

Richard Crowe presents Chicago Gangster Ghosts & SecretsWith interest in gangster lore spiking, 2009 marked the 75th anniversary of the FBI slaying of Depression-era outlaw John Dillinger as well as the much anticipated release of the Johnny Depp gangster film, Public Enemies (with Depp playing Dillinger). In this one-hour slide illustrated talk, hear the strange tales surrounding Massacre Wall, bizarre secrets of Al Capone's, Frank Nitti's and Deannie O'Bannion's gravesites, the haunted jail Dillinger escape in Crown Point, Indiana and much more.

The lecture will be held on Tuesday, March 27 at the Proksa Park Activity Center – 3001 S. Wisconsin Ave. Berwyn Residents and Non-Residents pay $10 to hear about these exciting and haunted stories.
