Chicago Rock History presentation on the local scene in the 70's ... Thursday March 29th @ The Chicago History Museum ... could be quite interesting.  Plus a performance by The Hushdrops afterwards.

Thursday, March 29, at 6:30 p.m., join Stu Shea for "Come Sail Away: Chicago's Rock Scene in the 1970s," part two of the Chicago History Museum's "Chicago Rocks!" Lecture and Performance series.

How did bands like Ides of March, Cheap Trick, Styx, Chicago, and Off Broadway "make it" out of DePaul, Oak Park, Rockford, and the Southwest suburbs? What other local acts of the time didn't scale the heights but provided great music?

Guest JOHN PAZDAN, founding member of Off Broadway, the Insiders, Pezband, and Big Guitars From Memphis will share his memories of the scene, from the Rush Street rock clubs of the early 70s to the new wave clubs at the end of the decade.

To cap it off, Chicago's fabulous HUSHDROPS will provide a rip-roaring set of Chicago-area rock favorites of the era. Hope to see you!!
