It is always a lot of fun!

But CROWDED!!!!

Crowded is good. The Park District puts a tremendous amount of work into this event, it would be a shame if it weren't well attended.

J'sMom

Perhaps the crowds will be tolerable this time since the Park District is charging admission to Proksa and not giving away pumpkins to the first 200 kids.

+1.  It seems like in the last 5 years it has become crazy crowded with lines going all the way back to the softball field to get in.  It's a great event and $1 for admission is still a great deal and I don't think you can buy a pumpkin anywhere for a buck either.

This year marked the 15th Anniversary of the Berwyn Park District's Safely Spooky (originally known as Trail of Terrors).

Over 3,000 guests, families, goblins, spidermen, princesses, pirates and other poplar costumes walked through our park as a safe alternative to trick-or-treating to receive treats and trinkets. With the help of volunteers from Morton West High School and Youth Crossroads and our staff, guests passed by some "spooky" scenes and screams could be heard throughout the park! Clover's Garden Center donated over 200 pumpkins that were sold to help raise over $200 for the Berwyn Park District Scholarship Fund which gives less fortunate individuals and families an opportunity to participate in recreational activities.

Guests also enjoyed the band at the Memorial, a hayrack ride around the block, sipped on Creepy Concoctions Soda, and warmed up with refreshments from the Berwyn Little League Concession Stand as they enjoyed the bonfires!

A big thank you to all of our sponsors and volunteers who made this year's Safely Spooky so successful!
