Well, I have been corrected on this - aldermen do receive a pension.  I didn't realize that.

Here is an example of person living off the tax payers money accomplishing nothing except voting with the party, now a pension that was not earned period.Started out as an independent to save the job went over to a be a democrat. If an aldermen is not producing then should be removed from the tax rolls!!!!!!

I believe they do get health insurance but not totally sure.
