School District 100 officials need to let the parents of children in the district know what is going on.

Why? If it doesn't affect the health and welfare of the kids, you're just being nosey.

What if the dismissal was due (hypothetically) to something affecting the health or welfare of the kids?

Would parents then have a right to know why the dismissal occurred?

(Let me be clear - I am asking a hypothetical question. I know nothing about this particular dismissal except for the rumors).

District 100 has a habit of ignoring wrongdoing when it happens in their backyard so excuse me if I am skeptical.

She was not escorted out by police. She was escorted out by Stan. The fact that they are not clarifying this seems libelous. I've worked with her all year on DACEE and do not believe for a minute she did anything illegal. If she had - the police would have been called and would have been called when all this buzz started. Please write letters demanding a public forum about this. And come to the school board meeting on May 28
The practice in schools around here is to have students arrested for wrong doing but not school employees.

No, I'm just being a District 100 parent who doesn't know if it will effect the health and welfare of my child so I want answers from School District 100 officials - the board members whom I elected and the administrators they employed along down to the person they found fit to head my child's school.  I expect that of anyone associated with my children's education and if I was a betting person I think there are many other parents who feel the same way I do.

wow, aren't you the biggest 100 supporter? you will soon fall from grace now that you question the all powerful Stan.

I am a D100 supporter- I am not necessarily a Stan supporter. I am hugely supportive of the kids in D100 and of the staff that I know work their tail off.

I don't support things blindly and if I see something I don't like- I will absolutely say something. And I don't like this.

I also admit that I don't know what happened to lead to her dismissal but I have worked with her all year on DACEE and cannot believe that she would do anything illegal or "that bad". She was so incredibly dedicated to what she was doing with "her kids" and the Accelerated learning kids.

I received a robocall from District 100 yesterday and more specifically from, Sue Butler, who has been named interim principal of Heritage Middle School.  She stated that she has been with District 100 for 27 years and I do remember her as one of my older daughter's teachers when she was a student at Heritage.  While I have no doubt she is certainly well qualified and capable of this position, I still would like to know the reasons for former Principal Laura LaSalle's dismissal or firing from officials from School District 100.
