There have been some interesting developments in race for the 4th township trustee position. Barbara Kapsa- Bossany has now taken an 11 vote lead over Brenda Patterson. Bossany has 3094 votes and Patterson has 3083 votes.

To recap what has happened so far - on election night (Tuesday, February 28), with all precincts reporting, Patterson had a lead over Bossany. Then the absentee ballots and provisional ballots started being counted. By end of day Wednesday March 1, Patterson's lead over Bossany was 7 votes. By end of day Thursday, March 2, Patterson's lead over Bossany had decreased to 4 votes. By Friday, March 3, Patterson's lead had decreased to 1 vote. As of today, Bossany has an 11 vote lead over Patterson.

If Bossany's lead holds up, the Berwyn United organization will have taken 3 out of the 4 Berwyn Township trustee seats. All mail in and provisional ballots must be resolved and counted by March 15.

It looks like Berwyn United did a better job on absentee and provisional ballots than the DCOB. For example, on election night, Marge Paul had an 80 vote margin over Tom Pavlik. As of today, Marge's lead over Pavlik is 96 votes, an increase of 16 votes.

That's pretty surprising...

It's happened in other races as well.  Berwyn United did a much better job on the mail in and provisional ballots.  For example, Marge Paul had an 80 vote lead on election night.  Her current lead is now 96 votes, an increase of 16 votes.

It does surprise me that Berwyn United out did the DCOB on mail in ballots and provisional ballots.  I would have expected the opposite.
