The Berwyn Historical Society is presenting an Illustrated program on Bungalows on Monday 9/18/06 - 7:00 p.m. at the Police Department at  6401 31st Street.

Dr. Joseph Biggot, prize-winning author of "From Cottage to Bungalow" will discuss the nature and aesthetics of the bungalow in Berwyn and  the Chicago region." The program will show examples from Berwyn and  other communities.

Come out and support the Berwyn Historical Society!

This program is free to all (but if you don't belong, joining the BHS would be a good thing to do :-) ).

Cheers,
Brian

What's wrong Rita?

BTW, the event was attended by approximately 40 people.  The speaker was entertaining and answered all the questions sent in his direction.

The most expensive room in Victorian houses?  The stairway.  What defines a bungalow?  The floorplan (living room, DR, kitchen on one side, and bedrooms on the other.  No grand entry way.

There will hopefully be further talks presented by the BHS in the future.

Cheers,
Brian

PS.  The Bungalow Walk is June 3, 2007 and we are looking for homes north of 22nd street.  If you know of a house which would show well, please drop me a private message.  We're interested in all types of homes, with a preference towards bungalows.
