"The Invention Of Hugo Cabret" by Brian Selznick [Scholastic Press] 2007

This is a book for kids between ages 8 to 12 (though I enjoyed it too). 533 pages, but the prose is interspersed with many drawings to tell a wonderful story of an orphaned boy who secretly lives/works in a train station in 1930's Paris, while he finishes the assembly of his father's automaton (a mechanical man).

This book will surely be made into a movie, perhaps one like "The Polar Express".
