How can I find Out the history of my house?

I was wondering how old -who was the builder,etc.Someone told me to contact the Berwyn historical society. Does anyone Know who to contact? Thanks.

Thank you for the info, I was wondering about our homes history also. I will try to attend that meeting.

The Cook County Recorder of Deeds Office has an microfilm / microfiche archive of plata surveys dating back to the 1800's. That may be a helpful stop along your journey after visit with out local Historical Society.
