Hi, It appears that a number of years ago the red brick on the front of my house was tuckpointed and the mortar used is also red. Over the years some of that red dye has stained the decorative limestone colored brick that are accent bricks. I have tried to power wash them and it helped a bit put not enough to my satisfaction. I am thinking that I would like to purchase a mortar stain in a limestone color and not sure where to buy. I have found some on line company's selling mortar stain but not in the natural limestone color. Has anyone had this same problem and how would you suggest I proceed? I want to do the right thing to bring that limestone color back as it will look so much nicer. Maybe I need to call in a tuckpointer company? Thanks

Have you tried muriatic acid? That should clean it ,if anything will. Normally you can stain something light, darker, but not something dark, lighter. You'd have to paint it to make it lighter and you don't want to do that.
