Has anyone found the copper weatherstrips around here? I've only found the bronze ones.

Any online source that you know of?

Thanks

Bear

Your best shot would be any few remaining mom & pop hardware stores that are
around. The hardware store in Lemont might still carry that, if they don't have it, the journey
is still worth the trip just to check the place out.

Got a name for that store?

Thanks

Peterson's Hardware, north side of the tracks just west of Main.

Called them.  No luck, they don't have it.  They don't even have the bronze ones.

Would any of these resources help you?  http://www.oldhousejournal.com/magazine/2004/oct/strips.shtml

Good luck.

No one has it.  I looks like I may have to make my own from copper sheets (http://basiccopper.com/)

Naz, yes you will have to make it or have someone make it for you. If I knew exactly what it looks like and how much of it you need I may be able to help. I believe I have some copper sheets in the shop. Get me some sort of drawing so I can determine not only the cost but if I can do it.

Thanks Marty.  It's a basic "<" shape, Ace has it in bronze, however most of the older homes still had them in copper.  I am interested in the copper because of the patina it will develop.  Bronze is too shiny for my taste.  I think that I might just as well go for the bronze one and replace it once I find the copper.

I don't know if these guys have copper, but they seem to have every kind of weatherstripping under the sun:  http://www.accurateweatherstrip.com/index.html
