Is the Democrat Party deliberately self-destructing ?
After all the embarassment with the Republican's Palin nomination (me included) how could this happen ?
No one vetted this pawnbroker/wifebeater/anabolic steroid using/whore mongering fool ?
I voted for Turner but I did go to both web-sites.  I did my homework as a conscientious voter.  How the HELL did this happen ?
I have voted independently for many years, crossing party lines, choosing the candidate I thought was the best.  Well, sometimes the lesser of 2 evils.
What the fun Huh

Either self-destructing or Mike Madigan had a brain freeze. The news just reported Cohen will drop out, how noble. I found it interesting the reporters were blamed for not investigating his past, the same reporters who are slammed daily (or Daley) by the politicans.

1986, all over again.  I voted for Boland but I think it's obvious that a lot of people vote for the name or the person they received mail from. Cohen was the only Lt governor candidate who I received a mailing from.

AP release says that Cohen has withdrawn from the race.
So, how does this work now ?

Maybe Illinois politicians think that any press is good press?  Huh

I couldn't believe what I was reading in the Chicago Trib... don't these people get vetted to run for either part?

If you get enough signatures, you get on the ballot.  Remember Jack what's his name....Amaro's shill buddy from the VFW that ran against OC in the IVB primary...He collected signatures and there is nothing the party can do to prevent them from being on the ballot (other than contesting the signatures and outworking them).

Driftglass rules of Chicago/Illinois politics.

#1. There is a club.
#2. You're not in it.

This may not hurt the ticket at all.  The primary was so early (too early in my opinion) most voters won't even remember.  Well, except those who voted for him.
